Welcome to Wayside Cottage

Wayside Cottage is a cosy two-storey stone cottage in Eype village, nestled behind the village pub and looking out toward the slopes of the dramatic Dorset coast.

There are two bedrooms each with a double bed providing accommodation for four people. The cottage has been renovated with a nautical theme, with stripped wood floors upstairs, sash windows throughout, oak kitchen bench, and a cosy open fire in a sitting room with a bay window seat looking across Eype Down.

A new deck at the back of the property provides an excellent additional dining and relaxing area  to extend those lovely long summer evenings by enjoying a meal and a good wine while looking out across the fields as the sun slowly sinks away.  It has spectacular views over the surrounding countryside out towards Thorncombe Beacon.

The sunny enclosed courtyard at the front of the property provides visitors with a further  outside space to relax.

For winter nights, an open fire stocked with plenty of firewood keeps the cottage warm, as well as electric radiators throughout. Our housekeeper prides herself in her crisp clean linen and plumped pillows.

Our final touch of comfort for our guests is a complimentary bottle of one of our favorite wines, awaiting you on your arrival.

Parking:

Wayside Cottage has an allocated car park right outside the cottage. The off-street parking spot is just in front of Wayside House, which adjoins Wayside Cottage.

Pets welcome:

Wayside Cottage is dog friendly. The enclosed garden keeps your pets safe. Dogs are permitted on Eype Beach, a short stroll down the hill. The next-door New Inn is also dog friendly, so you can eat and drink with your pet. An extra cleaning fee of £25 per week applies for pets.

Enter via front door, left to  double aspect sitting room with open fire and window seat overlooking the valley. Right to kitchen and dining room:  dining area with feature fireplace, step up to raised kitchen area with a further door to the  courtyard.

Upstairs: Main bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet. Additional double bedroom. Family bathroom with shower, bath and toilet.  External door to the rear deck.

Heating: Open woodburning fire, electric panel heaters in every room, night storage heater in dining room.
